November 11, 2010

When is the last time you gave someone a heartfelt thanksgiving?  After the event of 9/11, many came not to receive a pat on the back but simply out of love.  Wanting to unite their hope they helped around the clock.  We are forever grateful to the countless heroes of 9/11 who came to console the lives of others.  In the process of trying to rebuild, some individuals without knowing would lay their lives down for their neighbors, a true hero of the heart.

During the month of November, Americans celebrate the holiday of Thanksgiving.   We remember the early Pilgrims who gave thanks for a bountiful harvest and new friendships.  We commemorate this holiday by joining with family and friends and reminiscing the past year.   Today, our nation’s challenge is to band together like the early Pilgrims and Native Americans and count the blessings.  May you recognize the many gifts you have already received.

Reflection:  Take a walk, reconnect with nature. Watch, observe, and listen to the sounds created just for you.  Give thanks to the Lord for His glorious creation.  Ask God for an abundance of blessings and graces for you and your family and remember to thank Him for hearing your prayer.
